Cookie policy

What we store in your browser, why, and how you control it.

What cookies are

A cookie is a small text file that a website stores in your browser and reads back on your next visit. Your browser’s local storage does the same job, keeping data on your device without sending it to a server. This policy treats the two alike, because to you they amount to the same thing.

Anything that is not strictly necessary for the site to work may be stored on your device only after you consent. This follows from the Electronic Communications Act (ZEKom-2) and Directive 2002/58/EC as amended by Directive 2009/136/EC.

What we store

Before you decide, the site loads no third-party script and stores nothing for traffic measurement.

What we do not use

This website uses no advertising or tracking cookies, no tracking pixels, no social network plugins and no remarketing tools. We do not profile you and do not determine your age, gender or interests. The site has no shopping basket, no user accounts and no comments, so it stores nothing for them either.

We do not link traffic data to your health, nor to the content of an enquiry you send us through the form.

How you control your consent

On your first visit we ask whether you allow traffic measurement. The “Allow” and “Decline” buttons are equally visible and equally easy to reach; declining costs you not one click more than consenting.

You can change your decision at any time through the “Privacy settings” link in the footer of every page. When you withdraw, we delete the two Google cookies in the table from your device, the banner appears again, and analytics already loaded stops at your next page view.

You can also delete cookies yourself, or refuse them in advance, in your browser settings. If you refuse everything, the website still works; but without the strictly necessary entries in the table we cannot remember your decision and will ask you again.

The map on the Location page

The Location page has an OpenStreetMap map that does not load on its own: in its place stands a prompt saying what showing it does, and the map loads only when you click. Until you do, the page sends nothing to openstreetmap.org, which is also why the cookie banner has nothing to decide here. Once you show it, that server receives your IP address and browser details. We store nothing through the map ourselves and receive no data about you from it; what OpenStreetMap stores is for OpenStreetMap to state.

More information

Who the controller is, what personal data the enquiry form collects, on what lawful basis, and how long we keep it, is set out in the privacy policy.
